Recently I came across a post on Facebook about a challenge called 30 Days of Gratitude where every day you express gratitude for one person, thing, event, etc in your life. I thought this was a great challenge and decided to take it to my blog. The reason for this is I personally don't have Facebook nor do I want a Facebook account (I had seen the challenge when my friend was showing me something on her account).
So to start off I am grateful for my son. He has taught me so many lessons through the joys and challenges of raising him. I started out raising him as a single mother and on this 12th year of his life have just completed my first year of marriage where I am actually co-parenting (although still his primary caregiver).
I have made mistakes but I have watched him grow and am super proud of the person he is becoming. I know he is entering that preteen stage and I still have the teenage years ahead of me but I am sure they will just be more memories to create. I struggled many times financially, emotionally, and just wanted to do right by him. I am glad I am still loved by him and I would not trade any of the obstacles I faced because I truly believe I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for him.
To my son, thank you for being in my life. You are the greatest gift I could have ever received. I am truly blessed you are in my life and I am super grateful to have you as a son.
